FAQ » How to Get Your Hotspot

Please note: This process is currently only available to our US members only.

To lock in your place in line to receive your hotspot, you must complete the hotspot application & registration process. This is a 6-step process, which once completed you will receive your official hotspot deployment number. Please refer to the rest of this FAQ for further explanation.

At the current time, iHub is only accepting hotspot applications from US members only. This means, in the current deployment schedule hotspots will only be shipped to members in the US. 

The iHub team is actively working on entering new markets as soon as possible starting with Canada, Mexico, and most major countries in Europe.

The hotspot application and registration process is a 6-step process that guarantees your place in our deployment schedule. After completing this process, you will be issued an official deployment number which represents your position in the deployment / shipping que.

The 6 steps in the hotspot application are as follows:

  • Choose a Deployment Type (Lease or Deposit)

  • Complete the Initial Application Form (General Contact / Member information)

  • Confirm your Hotspot Install / Shipping Location

  • $99 Application Fee (via Credit Card Payment)

  • Agree to General Terms and Agreement

  • Final Agreement (Requires eSignature)

No, the “free-deployment” model would always require a deposit. We have now finalized this process with our funding partners. In the next FAQ, you will see a breakdown of the different models and their cost.

In order to continue securing and delivering hotspots to iHub’s members for the long-term, our board, capital, and investment partners have provided affordable leasing / deposit models that allow iHub Global to continue securing large purchase orders with hotspot manufacturers. In turn, this will ensure that iHub Global as an organization continues to thrive and scale – This means that your efforts and iHub business can too, for years to come.

We understand this pivot in our model has caused inconvenience to the expectations of some of our members.

In turn, we have made every possible effort to create a model that would still be very affordable to our members, while simultaneously helping sustain iHub Global’s growth so that we may continue shipping hotspots on schedule.

 

iHub Global has delivered two different payment models for our members to get a hotspot. (Please see below)

Application Fee

Both options include a $99 application fee. This application fee also includes a voucher / redemption code to get a stronger hotspot antenna with a 3rd party vendor. (Does not include shipping and handling)

You can cancel your application at any point and receive a full refund for the application fee no questions asked, unless you have either:

  • Already used your voucher code for the antenna.

  • The hotspot has already been shipped to you.

If either of the above actions occur, we will not be able to provide a refund for the $99 application fee.

 

Option 1: Lease | View Monthly Lease Agreement

  • This is an $18 per month fee for a term of 3 years.

  • The $18/mo starts on the date of your receipt and acceptance of the hotspot. 

  • What happens after the 3-year term?

    • Both parties (you and iHub) can agree to extend the lease for an agreed amount of time.

    • Either party can choose to terminate the lease.

    • If neither party takes any of the above actions, the lease automatically continues on a month-to-month basis at the same $18 per month fee.

 

Option 2: Deposit | View License Deposit Agreement

  • The $400 deposit is required to be made to iHub on the date of deployment (immediately before we ship the hotspot to you).

  • Please keep in mind, iHub is legally required to return the $400 deposit to you (less the cost of shipping) upon the termination of the License. iHub is not required to not pay interest on the deposit nor is iHub required to keep the deposit separate from its general funds. 

  • Should you decide to return the hotspot within the 3-year term in its original condition and without damage, you will be eligible for those funds to be issued back to you.

  • What happens after the 3-year term?

    • You can choose to return the hotspot in its original working condition, and receive your deposit back.

    • If no action is taken, you can continue using the hotspot, and no additional payments are required in order to do so.

Yes, this included in the application fee (mentioned in previous FAQ), iHub Global will issue you a voucher / redemption code to get a stronger dbi antenna via a 3rd partner vendor website. By using a stronger antenna than what comes stock with the original hotspot, your hotspot’s signal will be able to reach further, in turn making it more probable to communicate with more hotspots, and increase rewards.

Host commissions for a hotspot are 25% of the HNT.

Initially with our free deployment model, a host would start at 15% and have the ability to earn up to 25% assuming some qualifications. This is no longer the case. Every hotspot host will now earn 25% immediately with no qualifiers.

This only applies to US Members / and Locations in the United States

On December 11th 2021, all those who have a valid reserved location submitted via HeliumTrack or iHub’s Backoffice must complete the Hotspot Application Registration in order to keep their reserved location.

If you have a valid location, and do not at least start the Hotspot Application Registration process, your location will be released and allow other iHub members to reserve that location/

Going forward, if you reserve a valid hotspot location, you will have 14 days to complete the Hotspot Application Registration, otherwise your location will be released as described above.

You must have a valid reserved location via our software HeliumTrack or the iHub Backoffice in order to complete the Hotspot Application Registration process. If you are hosting a hotspot on behalf of an iHub VIP member, your location is already pre-validated.

On step #2 of the Hotspot Application Registration you will have the opportunity to reserve a valid hotspot location if you don’t already have one.

Yes, we have created a custom process that allows current hotspot hosts to complete the Hotspot Application Registration using their hosted location. If you are planning on doing this, it is best for you to reach out to the owner of the hotspot and let them know and discuss with them.

You will also have the opportunity to use a different location as long as it passes our validation process.

You can cancel your application at any point and receive a full refund for the application fee no questions asked, unless you have either:

  • Already used your voucher code for the antenna.

  • The hotspot has already been shipped to you.

For US Members, our hotspot deployment schedule is on track to begin in January 2022 for those who have completed the Hotspot Application Registration and have been issued their official deployment number.

We will keep the community up to date with time frames for future batches and deployments. Please refer back to this faq, and we will continue updating it with the latest information.

Update 12/3/2021: If you have not signed the final agreement with an eSignature, you can do so anytime now, by going back to your Hotspot Application Registration, and going to Step 5: Signature.

As mentioned in previous FAQ, each Hotspot Application Registration will require a final agreement and eSignature. If you have not yet received your final lease or deposit agreement requiring your eSignature, please do not worry. You will receive an email notification to complete the process.

Absolutely, when completing each step of the Hotspot Application Registration we will save your information. You can resume your application anytime to pick up where you left off.

Our software team is currently working on a way for those with an incorrect shipping address used during the Hotspot Location Reservation process to update in the Hotspot Application Registration. Please refer back to this FAQ as we will update it on how you can correct this.

Our software team is currently working on a way for those who want to switch between the Monthly Lease Model and License Deposit Model in Hotspot Application Registration. Please refer back to this FAQ as we will update it on how you can correct this.

If you have not yet received the voucher/redemption code along with instructions to get your antenna, please do not worry. You will receive an email notification to complete the process.

Please refer back to this FAQ in the next week or so, as we will provide directions on how to use your voucher code. This information will be made available on the confirmation page of the Hotspot Application Registration as well as be emailed to you.

We will be sending out reciprocal signed versions of the hotspot lease and deposit agreements to our members in the next several weeks. A link will also be made available on the confirmation page of the Hotspot Application Registration as well.
